Popular Water Bottle Brands
Mineral Compositions
A water quality analysis of pre-existing water bottle brands that utilize RO was a deliverable of this project. Testing of 3 water bottle brands were conducted to complete the water quality analysis as well as provide a base water that will influence the design of the mineral compositions.
In order to determine the optimum mineral composition, a series of testing was conducted on 5 different mineral compositions. Compositions 1,2, and 3 had a pH that was not within the EPA reccomended pH range of 6.5 to 8.5, so those alternatives were not chosen. Composition 5 was chosen as the optimum mineral composition because it had the lowest turbidity, total dissolved solids, conductivity, and color.
